Apostles of the Eternal Light
The Apostles of the Eternal Light was created in 2277 by Mother Curie III, a former Children of Atom member, though unlike the Children, they actively irradiate themselves. Brother Gerard guards the surface access to their Holy Light Monastery. The Apostles of Eternal Light believe that ghouls are the next stage in human evolution and that we "should not resist the idea." They use radiation traps to turn themselves into ghouls. Unlike the church in Megaton, this church is against the great division and thus are opposed to blowing up the Megaton bomb.is a religion practiced in the ruins of Springvale and led by Mother Curie III
Church of the Children of Atom
The Church of the Children of the Atom seems to have existed as far back as Megaton's construction, as Manya mentions that they were instrumental in getting the town built. The citizens of Megaton do not mind them residing there as their technologies and workforce were needed to build the city, in exchange for it being "built around the bomb."The Children of Atom believe that each atomic mass contains within it an entire universe, and when an atomic mass is split many universes are created. Therefore, instead of seeing the Great War as destructive, the Church believes it was a creative and unifying holy event. The Children of Atom also see death more as a celebration of life and unification to Atom through "the Glow." "The Glow" is the earthly embodiment of Atom and the Children of Atom's direct connection to Atom. The Children of Atom view the ghouls as "Atom's forsaken" or those who have unfinished business and, for denying the ghouls their unification with Atom himself, Atom touches them with "the Glow" and asks that they spread the word of Atom to those around the world. Those ghouls that refuse to accept the "gift of the Glow" and refuse to spread the word of Atom are doomed to becoming feral ghouls.
Saint Monica's Church
Today we hear the story of Saint Monica. She was born in Great Lanta on the shores of the ocean. Her parents were both ghouls. That's right; I said ghouls. That she was conceived at all was a miracle. That she was born unafflicted was an even greater miracle. God tested Saint Monica. She did not lead an easy life. Sold into slavery by raiders, she was forced to sell her body. They took her only son, Ehran, from her and sold him. She prayed every night to God for his safety. She did not pray for herself, although her burden was great. Each night she would preach the word of God to the slavers. After sixteen years, God provided a miracle. One of the slavers repented his wicked ways and helped her to escape. Four years she looked for Ehran. Four years she wandered the wasteland. God looked over her in those years. When she found her son, she found he was a wicked man. Ehran had overthrown his masters and taken their place. He was an owner of men. Ehran took his mother to be his slave, even knowing who she was, for Ehran blamed her for his painful early life. Each day Ehran would think of a new and wicked trial to put her through. She would only smile at him and say, 'I forgive you.' Each morning she would be miraculously healed as if nothing had happened. When Ehran truly realized her love and God's love was boundless, he flung himself at her feet and begged for Saint Monica's forgiveness. Ehran released all of his slaves, and they rejoiced. He repented all his wicked ways
Treeminders
The Treeminders is a peaceful group of tribals, found in Oasis. They worship the FEV mutant Harold, who became one with the tree Bob (which Harold likes to tease by calling Herbert) that started growing from his head sometime before 2241, but after 2161. The Treeminders have renounced using technology (although they see guns as a necessary evil to protect Oasis) and live off of the gifts from the trees that grow around Oasis. They do not seem to understand Harold's wishings for them to kill him as some of them see it as a riddle such as Tree Father Birch. All of the Treeminders are named after different species of trees.
Abbey of the Road
The Abbey of the Road is a Christian monastery somewhere west of the Commonwealth in New York State. [1] It sends out missionaries to spread the faith. One of these missionaries, Marcella, can be met in Point Lookout. It also retrieves religious relics, but that is a secondary objective. Its location is a secret; Marcella will refuse to reveal the location if asked.
Point Lookout tribals
Led by Jackson, the tribe cultivates, worships and consumes the punga fruit. What the punga cannot provide, they acquire by trading it with outsiders like Tobar.
